Capital Good for Humanity, Inc. is a Fort Lauderdale nonprofit promoting affordable housing through training, lending, development and building programs — helping families find a stable place to call home.
Our mission
Capital Good for Humanity, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We exist for one purpose: to make safe, decent, affordable housing attainable for families and individuals in our community.
Housing affordability is one of South Florida's most pressing challenges. Rising costs push homeownership — and even stable rental housing — out of reach for working families. We believe the answer isn't a single program, but a connected approach that addresses the whole journey.
That's why our work spans four connected pillars: training that prepares people for housing success, lending that makes housing financeable, development that creates affordable homes, and building activities that bring them to life.
Our mission: to promote affordable housing through training, lending, development and building activities and programs.

Training, lending, development and building — one integrated mission
What we do
Preparing people for lasting housing success — because a home is easier to keep when you're equipped for it.
Supporting lending pathways that make affordable housing financeable for families the market overlooks.
Advancing the development of affordable housing so that supply grows where it's needed most.
Hands-on building activities that turn plans into homes — and homes into stronger neighborhoods.
How it works
Every family's journey is different, but the path is built on the same steps — and we walk it together, from first conversation to move-in day.
Contact us and tell us your housing situation and goals. Every journey starts with a conversation — there's no cost and no judgment.
Through our training programs, you build the knowledge and financial readiness that make stable housing sustainable.
We help you navigate lending options, assistance programs and affordable housing opportunities that match your situation.
Whether it's keys to an affordable home or a stronger footing in your current one — the goal is lasting housing stability.
Community voices
I thought owning a home was for other people. The homebuyer classes broke everything down — credit, budgeting, what lenders actually look for. A year later I wasn't just dreaming about a home; I had a plan for one. That education changed the trajectory for my kids.
Every bank told us no. Capital Good for Humanity helped us understand why, fix what we could, and find assistance programs we never knew existed. They didn't just point us to a door — they walked us through it. We closed on our first home this spring.
After the roof damage, we couldn't afford repairs and couldn't sell. The repair program kept us in the house my mother grew up in. Volunteers showed up on a Saturday morning and by evening the neighborhood felt different — like people cared. Because they do.
